Please note that Itty Bitty Nannies also works with our employer families in meeting the Canadian Caregiver and Labour Law requirements for hiring a caregiver in Canada.
For live-in and live-out caregivers, here are some requirements to qualify:
- Must speak, read and understand at least one of Canada’s official languages (English or French).Must have at least 12 months’ experience as a caregiver or in a related occupation (including 6 months with the same employer) during the past 3 years.Related occupations include nursing however caregiver experience will make it easier to obtain employment.
- Secondary education (High School Diploma) equivalent of Canadian High School education.
- Required to live in household of person receiving care (Live-In Only ).
- Health and Criminal Record checks required for work permit and other immigration matters.
